The Northern Middlesex Regional Emergency Communications Center (NMRECC) is proud to announce its official designation as a Weather-Ready Nation (WRN) Ambassador by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS).
As a WRN Ambassador, NMRECC joins a nationwide initiative focused on improving the nation’s readiness, responsiveness, and overall resilience against extreme weather, water, and climate events. This partnership underscores NMRECC’s continued commitment to public safety, emergency preparedness, and proactive community engagement.
“Being selected as a WRN Ambassador strengthens our mission of ensuring the safety of the communities we serve by embracing innovative partnerships and promoting weather-awareness initiatives,” said NMRECC Dispatch Supervisor Joey Aberle. “This collaboration with NOAA and the National Weather Service will help enhance our outreach efforts, improve coordination with partner agencies, and provide timely, reliable information to the public during severe weather events.”
As part of this program, NMRECC will gain access to exclusive resources, educational materials, and engagement opportunities provided by the National Weather Service. These tools will further empower the center to serve as a force multiplier, sharing critical weather safety messages across local networks and social media platforms.
NMRECC encourages community members to stay informed, follow trusted weather sources such as the National Weather Service, and be prepared for any potential weather-related emergencies.
